Northeast Ohio Weather: Warmer today and tomorrow; big heat arrives next week

The Cleveland area is expected to see warmer temperatures today and tomorrow, with high temperatures expected in the 80 to 85 degrees, with temperatures expected to reach close to 90 degrees. A cold front is expected through Thursday night with scattered showers and storms, but temperatures will gradually cool for Friday and Saturday. The forecast predicts a significant increase in temperatures next week, with a heat dome expected to build over Ohio, potentially causing temperatures to reach over 100 degrees. First Alert Days are in place for Monday and Tuesday, with potential temperatures reaching the 90s and potentially exceeding 100 degrees at times. WOIO is monitoring this closely.

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Warmer air building in today with a good deal of sun in the forecast. High temperatures expected in the 80 to 85 degree range. It’ll be even warmer tomorrow as temperatures climb close to 90 degrees. A cold front tracks through Thursday night with scattered showers and storms with it. The air mass cools a bit for Friday and Saturday. The story next week will be for much hotter weather as a heat dome builds over Ohio. We already activated First Alert Days for Monday and Tuesday as least. The current forecast has temperatures climbing into the 90s with a heat index possible over 100 degrees at times. The team is monitoring this closely.
