CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Library & Archives will honor the 50th anniversary of the noted “World Series of Rock” concerts with a new exhibit that opens with a special Cleveland History Days event from 3 – 7 p.m. on June 26, at the Library & Archives, 2809 Woodland Ave., Cleveland.

The exhibit features photography and artifacts from the famed concerts that took place at Cleveland Municipal Stadium from 1974 – 1980. Staged by Belkin Productions, World Series of Rock concerts have taken on a legendary status in the city’s pop culture history.

The opening event on June 26 will feature appearances by Jules and Fran Belkin, as well as several local photographers whose work is featured in the exhibit – including Mike Petrello, Anastasia Pantsios, Bob Ferrell, and 2023 Cleveland Arts Prize winner Janet Macoska.

Library & Archives staff will be on hand to talk about the NEO Sound local music collecting initiative and Northeast Ohio’s rich music history. During the open house, several contributors to the exhibit will be selling self-published books on the local music scene:

• None Fran Belkin’s 2018 “Rock This Town! Backstage in Cleveland: Stories You Never Heard & Swag You Never Saw”

• None Anastasia Pantsios’ 2017 book “Girls to the Front: 40 Years of Women in Rock”

• None Mike Petrello’s 2024 book “Rock Shots, Iconic Images of the Greatest Era of Rock and Roll”

The Library & Archives Reading Room will keep regular hours 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Monday, June 24 through Wednesday, June 26 to provide opportunities to see the exhibit for those unable to make the opening. Alternately, fans can visit rockhall.com/library to schedule an appointment.

The Library & Archives will once again participate in their Home Movie Day initiative. Submissions for the November 2 event are being accepted now through September 15. The resulting collection of footage will be curated and screened in the Rock Hall’s Foster Theater.

Rock Hall Library & Archives staff will be available during the “World Series of Rock” event to discuss potential Home Movie Day submissions/donations related to the concert series, along with suggestions for digitization of the fan film/video.
