The Cleveland Guardians season opener is against the Oakland Athletics on March 28, with the opening pitch set at 10:07 p.m. This match will mark the first game for new Manager Stephen Vogt, who re-signed with the A's two years ago for his final season as a player. The game will also feature pitching ace Shane Bieber against A’s Alex Wood. The Guardians home opener is on April 8 against the Chicago White Sox, the same day as the Total Solar Eclipse.

The season opens on the road against the Oakland Athletics on Thursday, March 28. The opening pitch is a late one for fans in Cleveland at 10:07 p.m.
The match-up will mark the first game for new Manager Stephen Vogt, and it couldn’t be more fitting, explained the Cleveland Guardians on their website.
“Two years ago, Stephen Vogt re-signed with the A’s for his final season as a player and went out magically with a home run in his final at-bat on the last day of the 2022 campaign. It was the perfect ending to the career of one of the most beloved players in Oakland history,” wrote the Guardians.
The new manager will now go head-to-head Thursday night against his former manager.
Pitching ace Shane Bieber will take the mound for the Guardians against A’s Alex Wood.
Guardians fans can watch the game on Bally Sports Great Lakes. The game can also be heard on the Guardians Radio Network.
The Guardians home opener is April 8 at 5:10 p.m. against the Chicago White Sox. The game is the same day as the Total Solar Eclipse and is sold out.
