CLEVELAND, Ohio – At least 40 firefighters extinguished a fire Thursday at a vacant church in Cleveland’s Union-Miles neighborhood.

The fire broke out shortly after 7 a.m. at the Pentecostal Determine Church of God at 9105 Miles Park Avenue. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, fire officials said.

“It’s said to see an older building go down like that,” Lt. Mike Norman said. “We wanted to make sure it didn’t spread.”

No injuries were reported. A neighboring residence suffered from rippling on its siding, but no major damage, Norman said.

Fire officials have not estimated cost of damages associated with the fire.
