A preliminary hearing was held Wednesday for 43-year-old David Lombardo who is charged with criminal homicide, aggravated assault, strangulation, and tampering with evidence. According to prosecutors, Lombardo killed his 69-year-old disabled mother, Paula, in her Clearfield home on March 14th. Testimony by his wife revealed that Lombardo confessed to her that he killed his mother so he could collect a $5,000 life insurance policy.
He has been denied bail.
