Judge tosses out excessive force lawsuit against Lyndhurst police

A judge on Saturday dismissed an excessive force lawsuit filed against Lyndhurst police, saying the officers had acted reasonably during the traffic stop that led to the arrest. A federal lawsuit by Cleveland man, John Cook, has been dismissed by a judge for excessive force allegations against Lyndhurst police. The lawsuit was filed after a traffic stop where the officers believed the man was driving a stolen truck. The judge also dismissed a case against Cleveland police.

CLEVELAND, Ohio— A judge on Saturday tossed out a federal lawsuit filed by a Cleveland man who accused Lyndhurst police of using excessive force during a traffic stop in which the officers believed the man was driving a stolen truck.

U.S. District Judge Solomon Oliver also tossed out John Cook’s case against Cleveland police.
