CLEVELAND, Ohio — An initial attempt to introduce a baby gorilla from Texas to the troop at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo in hopes it might bond with a foster mother was met with success, according to zoo officials.

Frederika, the oldest gorilla in the Cleveland zoo’s troop, wasted no time in picking up the infant Jameela, who was born in the Fort Worth Zoo in early January, according to an update posted online Wednesday.
