CLEVELAND — It's a question many of you have been asking: What is the weather forecast for the solar eclipse in Northeast Ohio on Monday, April 8?

As we get closer to the big moment with various Northeast Ohio areas in the path of totality -- like Cleveland and Akron -- the 3News weather team continues tracking the latest weather forecast updates, which we will provide in the video at the top of this story throughout the days ahead.

It's important to note, these forecast details will continue evolving as we get closer to the eclipse itself.

“We are now getting into the timeframe where we understand how the weather is going to play out, but figuring out if the clouds are going to be over us or not -- that’s the big thing," explains 3News' Senior Meteorologist Matt Wintz.

Wintz said that while he's lowered the cloud cover trend from his forecast on Wednesday morning, it's still "too soon to talk about what exactly the cloud cover is going to look like."
