CLEVELAND, Ohio — The 101-year-old Cleveland Height’s doctor and TikTok sensation is making his debut in film this weekend at the Cleveland International Film Festival.

Dr. Howard Tucker’s substantial wit, charm and century-old wisdom are the subject of this documentary chronicling his life called What’s Next.

Produced by filmmaker Taylor Taglianetti and Dr. Tucker’s grandson, Austin Tucker, the pair capture snippets of a rather remarkable set of accomplishments that include more than a half a century practicing medicine, a law degree, a Guinness World Record as the world’s oldest practicing doctor, and so much more.

In this film Tucker proves that attitude trumps age, and retirement is for the unimaginative. Tucker continued to practice medicine until the hospital where he worked - St. Vincent St. Charity Medical Center - finally closed its doors in 2022. He was 100.

Since he left the medical practice, he has filled his days starring on TikTok and checking items off his bucket list -- things like throwing out the first pitch at a Guardians game, being inducted into the Cleveland Heights High School Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame - an honor he noted he now shares with Travis Kelce in angling for Taylor Swift’s autograph.

Is there a Guinness Record for world’s oldest Swiftie?

Time marches on. He grapples with age, with technology, with a changing world, and with the inevitable slowdown that comes to us all, injecting it with a combination of grace, humility and humor that brings a smile to faces of all ages.

The film is scheduled for showing in the KeyBank State Theatre at 2:20 p.m. Sunday and 2:25 p.m. Tuesday.

Dr. Tucker and the filmmakers will be there to do a brief Q&A after the film screening.
